The Department of Surgery at University of Utah Health highly values Advanced Practice Clinicians (APCs) in our clinical operations in both inpatient and ambulatory practice. The Division of General Surgery, Surgical ICU is looking for an Advanced Practice Clinician (NP or PA) who is a patient focused, self-motivated provider who has the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Our APCs are valued members of our teams and work collaboratively with their physicians as well as independently. We expect excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment. Job Summary:

The APC in the Division of General Surgery, Surgical Intensive Care Unit provides care to critically ill patients most of whom are post op or trauma patients. The provider will care for critically ill patients in a 12 bed ICU alongside residents, medical students, APC students, fellows, and faculty attending physicians. Responsibilities

Bedside care of critically ill patients in a 12 bed Surgical ICU.

Procedures: Based on need, training, and proficiency.

Participate in team meetings, education conferences, creation of SICU APC and Resident call schedules, as well as opportunities for research and QI project involvement.

Collaborate with multiple team members to ensure the best outcomes possible.

Minimum Qualifications

Required:

* Current licensure to practice as a Physician's Assistant from the State of Utah.* Current RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential through the University of Utah Health RQI system. The eCredential is to be obtained within 30 days of hire.

Preferred:

* Certification in ACLS/BLS/NRP/ATLS may be required by your department or by privileging criteria.

This position is patient-sensitive and must fulfill all associated requirements.
