Harborview Medical Center has an outstanding opportunity for a ARNP, Nurse Practitioner; or PA-C, Physician Assistant to join our Otolaryngology and Oral Maxillofacial clinics.
WORK SCHEDULE:
Full-time, 100% FTE, 40 hours per week
Monday - Friday, 08:30 - 17:00

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:
Our Otolaryngology clinic assesses and treats patients with routine and complex disorders, conditions and cancers of the ear, nose, throat and related structures of the head and neck. Our highly-trained surgeons, speech pathologists, nurses and support staff work hard to provide each patient with individualized treatment and information to support the healthiest outcome possible. We also provide diagnosis and treatment for voice and swallowing conditions, sleep surgery, and complete audiology services, including diagnostic hearing evaluations and advanced hearing aid technology.
The Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Clinic at Harborview provides comprehensive diagnosis and treatment of a wide variety of problems relating to the mouth, teeth and facial regions. These conditions include impacted teeth, oral pathology, facial trauma, head and neck infections, maxillofacial reconstruction/implants, dentofacial deformities and temporomandibular joint disorders.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Records medical histories, perform physical examinations, order and/or perform diagnostic tests, evaluate test results, establish diagnoses and prescribe medication and/or treatments* Performs minor surgical procedures such as suturing lacerations, postoperative wound care, scoping, incising and draining abscesses, including administration of local anesthesia* Provides health education; assist with proper utilization of community social and health care resources. Assists in clinical training of various levels of health care professionals, participates in continuing education* Supports and assists Otolaryngology Head & Neck Surgery, Neurotology and Oral Maxillofacial Surgery Faculty in the provision of services during physician visits and assumes responsibility for care under guidelines set forth by team* Perform perioperative care to include postoperative care, in-patient rounds, consult service and other follow up care* Coordination of care for Oral Maxillofacial and Otolaryngology Head & Neck Surgery patients throughout treatment
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Master's Degree in nursing from an accredited school of nursing
AND Washington State Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner License with prescriptive privileges
AND National certification as a Nurse Practitioner
AND BLS certification
OR
Physician Assistant:
Licensure as a Physician's Assistant in the State of Washington with national certification from a national certifying body (NCCPA).
Applicant must be eligible to receive hospital staff appointments for adjunct staff membership by the Organized Medial Staff of the hospital under Medical Staff By-Laws for hospital-based positions.
