License: Valid state nursing license required

Certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA); PALS or ENPC required within 6 months of hire

Must-Have:- Willingness to float and work as a Resource Nurse- Ability to work independently in a small, rural facility- High proficiency in Emergency Department (ED) and Medical-Surgical/Progressive Care Unit (MS/PCU) environments- Experience with MS, ED, and PCU/MS

Job Description:- Provide professional nursing care within assigned departments, coordinating care planning with other disciplines.- Deliver care meeting the psychosocial, physical, and general needs of patients.- Prioritize care based on patients' physical and psychosocial needs and factors affecting patient flow.- Communicate with physicians about changes in patient status, symptoms, and diagnostic study results.- Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or response to treatment.- Perform comprehensive head-to-toe assessments on all patient populations, including pediatric and geriatric.- Adequately assess and manage pain, educating patients and families on pain management techniques.- Revise care plans as indicated by patient response, evaluating overall effectiveness daily.- Demonstrate knowledge of medications and administer them correctly, adhering to the six medication rights to minimize errors.- Formulate teaching plans based on identified learning needs, involving family in education as appropriate.- Assist physicians with procedures, demonstrating technical and manual skills required by licensure.- Identify and treat cardiac dysrhythmias according to ACLS protocol.- Monitor hemodynamic status and interpret results correctly.- Provide care for patients with compromised nutritional/metabolic status and those needing fluid and electrolyte management.- Communicate clearly with charge nurses, co-workers, and physicians, and consult other departments for an interdisciplinary approach.- Exhibit flexibility, organization, and functionality in stressful situations.- Perform additional duties as assigned.- Rural experience is preferred, and the candidate must be able to hit the ground running.

Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
