+ Largest city near the center of the triangular area defined by the Interstate highways between Atlanta, GA, Birmingham, AL, and Chattanooga, TN.
**The role you'll contribute:**
**GENERAL SUMMARY:**
Accurately analyzing and abstracting clinical data and information; for maintaining organized and detailed clinical reports and databases (computer based); maintaining confidentiality at all times; working as a member of different teams.
Independent work and self-motivation are key as well as attention to detail and an ability to interpret and understand clinical data. Act as a role model for care delivery and demonstrate the CARE values in all actions.

**PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**
**:**
1. Abstracts clinical information from medical records for the submission of in-patient and outpatient core measures, National Trauma Data Registry data, and/or trauma outcomes.
+ Interacts and provides education, as needed, to front line staff, which includes physicians on a daily basis.
+ Abstracts from patient records designated information.
+ Processes and maintains data according to established procedures outlined in the National Hospital Quality Measure Guidelines, National Trauma Data Registry.
+ Conducts chart abstraction as assigned in a timely manner in order to maintain compliance with external regulatory agencies.
+ Data collection and entry is timely, thorough, and accurate as evidenced by inter-rater reliability score.
1. Assists with data analysis and evaluates opportunities for improvement.
+ Collaborates with departments serves as a leader in analyzing opportunities for improvement.
+ Assists preparing the Performance Improvement graphs.
+ Presents information to Leadership and the Medical Staff regarding Core Measure, NCDR, and/or STS requirements and current performance.
+ Distributes data in useable format (ex. Excel spreadsheet) as directed.
+ Assists with other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:**
+ Degree or credentials in nursing.
+ Working experience/ knowledge in quality management/improvement.Requires previous computer experience - skills in Microsoft Word and Excel as well as Meditech.Working knowledge of databases is a plus.
**LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:**
+ RN
