JOB SUMMARY:
Surgical technologists are allied health professionals, who are an integral part of the team providing surgical care to patients. Surgical technologists work under the supervision of the Registered Nurse to facilitate the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures, ensuring that the operating room environment is safe, that equipment functions properly, and that the operative procedure is conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety. Surgical technologists possess expertise in the theory and application of sterile and aseptic technique and combine the knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, and implementation tools and technologies to facilitate the performance of invasive therapeutic and diagnostic procedures.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma, GED, or Equivalent
3 years of experience
National Surgical Tech Certification
Current BLS for Healthcare Providers, issued by AHA
Advanced experience in either cardiac, neurosurgery, orthopedics or general surgical procedures
Prior experience as a lead surgical technologist responsible for a service line
Prior experience caring for patients in a pediatric trauma facility
10 hr. daily shifts x 4 per week variable shifts
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
4 years of experience
The current salary range for this position is $33.00 to $44.99
A candidate's placement in the range will be determined based on the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
