What will you be doing?
* Assist the teacher with lesson delivery by reinforcing concepts, clarifying instructions, and supporting student-facing materials.* Observe students during activities and intervene to maintain on-task behavior and support positive classroom management.* Provide one-on-one or small group support to students requiring additional assistance, particularly those with IEPs or 504 plans.* Assist in the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) under the guidance of the teacher, providing feedback on student progress and collaborate on support strategies with the teacher.* Update and monitor student performance trackers and academic progress regularly, documenting behavior observations in accordance with school policies.
What do we require from you?
* 2+ years working in an urban or low-income setting preferred* You possess or are eligible for NJ Substitute Certification or have passed the ETS Para-Pro Assessment (within 30 days of employment)* Must have a track record of measurable success and achievement.* Welcomes the challenge to grow, learn, and improve in a collaborative environment.* Committed to serving our scholar population in an anti-discriminatory learning environment.* Semifinalist candidates will be required to provide unofficial transcripts, evidence of certification/eligibility, and 3 professional references.* Hired candidates are responsible for the following: official transcripts, criminal clearance (fingerprinting), and medical clearance (TB/Mantoux testing).
