Position Summary

This position requires full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of MemorialCare Long Beach Medical Center. The RN, Registered Nurse 12-Hr provides safe, cost-effective patient care through the health experience, according to established standards utilizing the nursing process, within the scope of practice of Registered Nursing, for the Adult Oncology department at MemorialCare Long Beach Medical Center.

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications/Work Experience:

* Completion of pre-employment drug screening.* Completion of pre-employment criminal background reference check.* Completion of pre-employment health evaluation including TB screening, and annual or bi-annual re-evaluation as indicated by Employee Health.* The RN must be able to comply with every other weekend work commitment as well as be available to work and be scheduled any day of the week.* Must be willing to train and perform Urology procedures and practices.* The ideal candidate will have one-year minimum nursing experience in an oncology acute care setting.

Education/Licensure/Certification:

* Current CA RN license* BSN required or experienced RN in an accredited BSN program.* Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required.* Completion of unit orientation and clinical competency validation.* Must have a current cancer-specific certification by an accredited certification program or 12 hours of cancer-specific continuing education each calendar year; or must complete 12 cancer-specific CEU hours or have a current cancer-specific certification by an accredited certification program within one year of employment in an oncology unit.* A certification is qualified if it includes cancer-specific criteria.* ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy highly preferred.
