The Guadalupe Centers Charter Schools serves 1600 students from Pre-K-12 and is a free, open-enrollment public charter school. Over 92% of our students are Latinx. Our school system consists of Guadalupe Centers High School, Guadalupe Centers Middle School, and Guadalupe Centers Elementary and PreK School. Our system grew out of Guadalupe Centers' educational programming. Guadalupe Centers is the longest continuously operating agency serving the Latinx community in the US since 1919. Our roots in our community run deep.

Summary:
We seek a qualified and compassionate Part-Time Substitute School Nurse to provide essential healthcare services in the absence of the regular school nurse. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, be able to work independently and have a genuine interest in promoting the health and well-being of students within a school setting. This position offers a flexible schedule, making it an excellent opportunity for healthcare professionals looking for part-time employment.

Director of Student Services, Building Principal
Duties/Responsibilities:
Conduct health assessments and screenings as needed.Evaluate students with acute or chronic health conditions.Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols.Respond promptly to medical emergencies and provide first aid.Collaborate with school staff to develop and implement emergency response plans.Ensure a safe and supportive environment for students and staff.Promote health and wellness through educational initiatives.Conduct health-related presentations and workshops for students and staff.Provide information on preventive measures and healthy lifestyles.Maintain accurate and confidential health records for students.Document health assessments, treatments, and communications with parents/guardians.Communicate effectively with the regular school nurse to ensure continuity of care.Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and other school personnel regarding student health issues.Collaborate with the school administration to address health-related concerns and implement health policies.Collaborate with school counselors, psychologists, and other support staff to address students' overall well-being.Work as part of a team to ensure a healthy and safe school environment.
Required Skills/Abilities:Ability to use clinic/medical equipment.Possess basic pharmacological knowledge.Ability to assess emergencies and act accordingly.Comfortable knowledge of universal procedures and ability to teach this to others.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Basic computer skills.Willing attitude to be a part of the school team.Ability/willingness to participate in ongoing professional and staff development, both independently and through system-offered opportunities.
Experience and Education:Valid CPR and AED Certification.Registered nurse (RN) Certification is required.A current and valid Missouri Certified Nursing License is required. In good standing with the Board of Nursing.Minimum of three years of nursing experience in community health, pediatrics, emergency care and triage, psychiatry, and/or physician's office preferred.Bilingual ability; English required and Spanish preferred.A driver's license is required for student transport.
Physical Requirements:Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Prolonged periods of standing and walking throughout school facilities.Prolonged periods of standing, reaching, and bending.Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
