UPMC Passavant McCandless is currently hiring a full time Professional Staff Nurse to join our 5 Pavilion Med/Surg Unit. Gaining experience on this unit will better prepare nurses to transition into one of our Surgical Services areas.
This Fast Track Surgical/OR program is designed to equip you with the skills that you need to become a successful and confident Nurse!
In this time, it is our goal to help new graduate and experienced nurses gain the knowledge and skill set required in caring for the diverse patient population of UPMC Passavant.
Title and salary are based on education and experience.
Nurses Graduating Fall 2023, Spring 2024, & Summer 2024 and later are eligible for $15 **,000**

About the Unit: 5 North Pavilion has 30 private beds and is primarily orthopedic service line including elective joint replacements, joint revisions and fractures. 5 North Pavilion also specializes in urological surgery, including robotic prostatectomies and bladder resections
We offer a wide range of medical management. New and experienced nurses will experience an exciting range of services including wound care, surgical recovery, patient education, and the opportunity to see motivated patients work to get back on their feet through physical therapy and other nursing modalities. Among patient care, nurses will have the opportunity to participate in hospital-based councils, committees, research projects, and continued unit development and quality projects. We strongly encourage our nursing staff to continue their education through academia and/or certifications, in-services and conferences.
Our Registered Nurses work rotation shifts including weekends and holidays to ensure 24/7 coverage on the floor.

Purpose:
The Professional Staff Nurse is a Registered Nurse and a member of the care delivery team. The Professional Staff Nurse is responsible to set the standards for the level and quality of care. The Professional Staff Nurse has responsibility, authority and accountability for the provision of nursing care. The Professional Staff Nurse manages and provides patient care activities for a group of patients and their families through the application of independent judgment, communication and collaboration with all team members. The role of the Professional Staff Nurse encompasses leadership, partnership, collaboration and supervision.
