MUSC Health - Black River Medical Center
is seeking a PRN skilled Physician Assistants or Nurse Practitioners to join their team of Emergency Medicine Advanced Practice Providers. Candidates will provide diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive healthcare services for patients in Cades, SC and the surrounding communities.
MUSC Health Black River Medical Center opened in January 2023. The 64,000 sq. ft. rural hospital provides patients with a full range of modern diagnostic and interventional capabilities. Some of the services offered include 3-D mammography, MRI, nuclear medicine, CT scanning, on-site pharmacy, and a complete imaging department. The new facility features 25 inpatient beds, four observation beds, two operating rooms, and 16 emergency treatment rooms. The new hospital serves Williamsburg and lower Florence counties.
Our Goal
The new hospital's diagnostic technology and programs are geared to meet the needs of the communities we serve, so residents won't have to travel elsewhere for quality care.
The MUSC Medical Center supports a patient-and family-centered approach to care. Family members are not considered visitors to a loved one who is hospitalized. They are key participants in support, decision-making, and care. We do not have visiting hour restrictions and two people are always welcome at the bedside 24 hours a day.

Required Training and Experience
Required Minimum Training : Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program and currently licensed or eligible for licensure as a Physician Assistant or completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program and currently licensed or eligible for licensure as an APRN as noted below.

(Adult Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner or Adult Nurse Practitioner): Adult pts (13 years to death), stable chronic disease state management or primary care setting.FNP
(Family Nurse Practitioner): (birth to death) Stable chronic disease state management, primary care across the lifespan.
Required Experience:
2 years of Emergency Room Experience as an APP, or graduation from an Emergency Room Fellowship

Ability to bend at the waist, kneel, climb stairs, reach in all directions, fully use both hands and legs, possess good finger dexterity, perform repetitive motions with hands/wrists/elbows and shoulders, reach in all directions. Ability to be qualified physically for respirator use, initially and as required. Maintain 20/40 vision corrected, see and recognize objects close at hand and at a distance, work in a latex safe environment and work indoors. Frequently lift, lower, push and pull and/or carry objects weighing 50 lbs(+/-) unassisted, exert up to 50 lbs of force, lift from 36" to overhead 25 lbs. Infrequently work in dusty areas and confined/cramped spaces.
