8-week Day/Night Rotation. Day Rotation: 6:30A-7P, 36hrs/wk +call rotation; Night Rotation: 6:30A-7Px 2 days + 6:30P-7A Thursday Night (36hr/wk)$2000 Hiring Bonus paid at 12 months

A Brief OverviewPerforms a variety of preparatory, scrubbing and related duties necessary to provide patient care in the Operating Room specialty service capacity. Assist with surgical cases in all surgical specialties.

Essential FunctionsPrepares the operating room by reviewing case cart and supplying it with supplies and instruments to provide appropriate patient care • Assembles supplies and equipment for scheduled procedure according to the physician's preferences and the procedure • Inspects equipment for proper working condition • Maintain sterile practices when opening packages and preparing for the procedure • Prepare for specialty cases and maintain up-to-date knowledge of advancements and techniques. • Participate in time out/sign out processesMaintains the sterile field during the procedure. • Follow principles of aseptic technique and appropriate operating/procedure room procedures following AORN guidelines. • Scrubs to assist the surgeon in the completion of surgical procedures by demonstrating a working knowledge of surgical instrumentation and equipment needed for a variety of procedures. • Anticipates the needs of the surgeon, passing instruments and providing sterile items in an efficient manner, as directed by the surgeon Practices sharps safety techniques (safety zone, safe passing) • Performs appropriate counts prior to the operation and before incision is closed • Prepares and labels fluids and medications on the sterile field • Prepares specimens for pathologic analysisCleans and prepares instruments for terminal sterilization • Assists operating room team with environmental cleaning and case turnovers • Maintains availability of instruments and supplies to avoid delays • Assists in maintaining adequate supplies in the operating room for immediate access during procedure. • Store and stock supplies as needed • Updates preference cards following each procedure to ensure appropriate supplies are available and communicates to service lead • Assist with OR patient care processes as directed by nursing and anesthesia • Participates in assigned on call activities.Regular attendance at work is an essential function of the job.Perform physical requirements as described in the Physical Requirements section

Education QualificationsGraduate of an accredited School of Surgical Technologist OR applicable surgical technologist course of study Required

Experience QualificationsMinimum 2 years of experience working as a Surgical Technologist and competency in scrubbing in 2 or more surgical specialties as a Surgical Technologist. Candidates with the Surgical Technologist certification fulfill this requirement without the experience. Required

Licenses and CertificationsCurrent and valid Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association Required andCurrent and valid Surgical Technologist certification PreferredFrequent call-back Required
