Mission Veterinary Emergency & Specialty is seeking veterinarians passionate about working in emergency medicine for our 6-month training and mentorship program. We are looking for individuals who are team oriented, driven, reflective, and reliable.
The Ethos ER Immerse Training Program
The ER Immerse Program will prepare veterinarians for a sustainable and satisfying career in emergency medicine. Built from the ground up to be different than traditional rotating internship programs, the ERi program has been developed around a curriculum of core competencies essential for an emergency veterinarian. In addition to providing training around clinical knowledge and skills, the program also includes a focus on client and team member communication, professional skills, and life/work integration.
The ER Immerse program utilizes a hybrid training approach incorporating simulation-based didactic components into authentic training experiences with live patients. The curriculum is designed using an evidence-based strategy identifying competencies and skills deemed essential for a successful career as an emergency clinician.
Program Duration/Commitment
• 6-month training program ideally beginning June 2025, but can accommodate your preferred date
• 18-month commitment as an ER clinician following training

• Mission Veterinary Emergency & Specialty: 5914 Johnson Dr., Mission, KS 66202
• Overland Park Veterinary Emergency & Specialty: 8301 W 163rd St., Overland Park, KS 66223
Program Highlights
• 5-day work week consisting of 4 clinical days, 1 didactic day, and 2 days off each week
• Rotate with other specialty services during the training program: Emergency, Critical Care, internal Medicine, Surgery, Cardiology, and Neurology
• Training provided by both the Mission and Overland Park teams
• Always work with a dedicated mentor on shifts
• Weekly Critical Care and Surgery Rounds
• Mentorship is tailored to meet the individual needs of the mentee
• Accredited teaching hospital
• Competency-based curriculum that includes asynchronous learning on Vetbloom and weekly live virtual didactic rounds
• Regular live continuing education events led by specialists and experienced emergency doctors
• Work alongside 11 talented Emergency Veterinarians
