Responsibilities
* Administers chemotherapy, hydration, and other medications under the direction and supervision of a physician* Assesses and monitors therapy of patients using appropriate technical skills under the direction and supervision of a physician* Assesses patients for changes in condition, including but not limited to abnormal labs, x-rays, scans and drug reactions. Initiates appropriate action.* Performs venipuncture, accesses implanted ports and maintains central venous access devices and alternate delivering systems* Maintains efficient and appropriate patient flow* Phone triage as assigned* Documents all elements of care* Serves as a resource to the Medical Assistants* Communicates all pertinent information and any interventions to the physician or advanced practice provider* Assesses patient and family needs
Qualifications
* Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education required; BSN preferred* Oncology experience strongly preferred* Current RN state license required* Current BCLS certification required* OCN certification preferred* Must be willing to travel between offices as needed
