UnityPoint Health - Allen Hospital is a 204-bed, not-for-profit community hospital serving the Cedar Valley. Allen Hospital is the busiest hospital in the Cedar Valley. We care for more inpatients, outpatients, emergency patients and cardiac patients than any other hospital in our 10-county service area. United Medical Park and Prairie Parkway offer outpatient care in facilities that are built for your comfort and convenience.
* Part time opportunity to work with the Wound clinic team* Flexible work schedule-no weekends, holidays, or call* Work collaboratively with specialty trained wound care NP, Physician, and Nurse to ensure continuity of care* Triage, assessment, and coordination of care for patients with specific wound care conditions in an outpatient hospital setting.* Future expansion of wound care program* Fully integrated system with clinics and hospitals on Epic EMR to improve care coordination
Responsibilities
* Our providers treat high acuity wounds of varying etiologies and complexities* Apply clinical knowledge to improved patient outcomes and rapid wound resolution, Ostomy care, and skin checks* New patient consultations, follow up evaluations, procedures, and collaboration with specialties* Develop plan of care, education, make referrals, and recommendations to improve healing outcomes* Average patient encounters per day 20-25* Potential travel to Marshalltown to cover PTO in Would Healing Center on limited basis* Will be trained in common treatments included but not limited to: negative pressure wound therapy, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, compression, debridement, diabetic wounds, ulcers, infections, wound vacs, and venous insufficiencies.
Qualifications
* Nurse Practitioner with wound & ostomy experience preferred* Hold an unrestricted medical license in the state of Iowa* Hold current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications as necessary or appropriate to the Advanced Practitioners field of practice* Eligible to work in the United States
