Emergency Technician II, under the direction of a registered nurse, assists in the care of patients by performing triage, registration, basic lab tests, EKG's and related routine, non-clinical nursing care. Able to obtain data and evaluate care needed and provide appropriate documentation relative to patient condition and care given. Greets, assists, and directs patients and visitors and monitors activity to establish a friendly caring environment.

Qualifications

Education

High School Diploma, GED, or related vocational training is required.

Experience Qualifications6 months of experience in an acute setting patient care role is required.

6 months of experience in emergency trauma care is preferred.

Certifications, Licenses and Registrations

EMT (Emergency Medical Technician), EMT-Basic, EMT-Intermediate, EMT-Paramedic, active enrollment in EMT Paramedic program with IV training completion or CNA (Certified Nurse Assistant) certification is required.

Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
