In addition, St. Luke's ranks among the best hospitals in the world in providing NICU care for babies who are 22-23 gestational weeks and up. We provide high frequency ventilation for the smallest babies and provide inhaled nitric oxide for babies with pulmonary hypertension in addition to many other services.

* .9 FTE full time position responsible for inpatient Newborn Nursery care. * Schedule: 12 Hours - Friday, Saturday, and Sunday; Day shift * 4 Weekends on/1 weekend off rotation * Pediatric Hospitalist Physician available for back up * Additional onsite specialist support: Experienced Neonatologists team that will take the ill babies into their care. * Fully integrated system with clinics and hospitals on EPIC EMR to improve care coordination.

Responsibilities

* Admissions, rounds, and discharges in the Newborn Nursery * Circumcisions procedures * Not responsible for deliveries * Outpatient follow up visits; if clinic is closed when newborn needs seen by. * Average of 15-20 patients per day in the nursery * Evaluates, interprets and coordinates information to make decisions and recommendations regarding patient care * Patient-focused, friendly and willing to collaborate in a team environment. * Excellent communication (written and verbal), analytical and problem-solving skills * Excellent work/life balance with flexible scheduling

Qualifications

* Nurse Practitioner * Board Certified; PNP or NNP * Pediatric/Newborn experience * Hold an unrestricted medical license in the state of Iowa * Hold current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications as necessary or appropriate to the Advanced Practitioners field of practice * Eligible to work in the United States
