THE POSITION: The job of Paraeducator, Community Schools is done for the purpose/s of providing support to the instructional program in a high-risk setting with specific responsibility for assisting teachers with instruction, supervision and tutoring of students; monitoring students; providing secretarial support related to the community school program; and serving and clean-up of meals. The Paraeducator, Community Schools may work in a school setting where interaction with expelled or Probation-referred high school students, foster youth and/or infants and toddlers is required.This job reports to the Assigned AdministratorLOCATION:ACOE Opportunity AcademyExact AOA Location TBD, you can find all of the AOA locations listed here: https://www.acoe.org/opportunityTYPICAL DUTIES:• May proctor, administer, and assist in administering assigned testing (e.g. MAP, SBAC, ELPAC, CELDT, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring proper protocols are followed and maximizing student opportunities for success.• Assists students, individually or in small groups, with lesson assignments for the purpose of practicing and/or reinforcing learning concepts and assisting students in reaching academic goals and grade level standards.• Maintains manual and electronic documents, files and records (e.g. meal counts, attendance, reports, etc.) for the purpose of providing written reference, and/or meeting mandated requirements.• Monitors individual and/or groups of students in a variety of settings for the purpose of providing a safe and positive learning environment.• Performs clerical tasks (e.g. answer phones, event planning, type documents, handle mail, receive visitors, etc.) for the purpose of providing effective and efficient service to the site and disseminating information to appropriate parties.SEE FULL JOB DESCRIPTION FOR MORE INFORMATION

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED). CPR/First Aid Training and Conflict Resolution - willing to obtain if selected. Prior experience working with high risk students is desirable. SCREENINGS WILL BE HELD WEEKLY EVERY WEDNESDAY APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS: The EdJoin Online Application and materials must be received by the final application filling date.
