The Spurwink Center for Safe and Healthy Families is looking for a 0.8 FTE Nurse Practitioner to provide thorough health assessments for children birth through age 18 recently placed in the foster care system. Assessment and consultation will happen on site, with option for flexible remote writing time. The NP will work closely with our psychologists and social workers to provide these comprehensive health assessments. The NP will be well supported by two child abuse pediatricians and an experienced NP.

DUTIES:
* Perform physical examination for a comprehensive health assessment. The NP must have excellent pediatric physical assessment skills. The NP must be familiar with growth and development, techniques of examination, The NP must be able to elicit an appropriate medical history and history of presenting concerns from the child's caretaker.* Perform medical record reviews. The NP must have a knowledge base in pediatric care to complete complex medical record reviews.* Participate in follow-up planning for individual clients including recommendations for appropriate Department of Human Services intervention, mental health or developmental intervention, further laboratory or medical or dental care.* Participate in multidisciplinary team meeting. Within the Spurwink Center for Safe and Healthy Families, the NP will actively participate in weekly multidisciplinary team meetings, staff meetings, and other program meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS:
PNP preferred or FNP with pediatric experience. Licensed in the State of Maine.
