INTERNAL OPPORTUNITY FOR CURRENT EMPLOYEES AND SUBSTITUTES
POSITION TITLE: Para Educator - Basic Education
Working one on one with a student
SCHEDULE: 6.50 hr/day, 4 day/wk (Mon-Thurs, 7:45 am - 2:45 pm), through Feb 12, 2025
5.5 hr/day, 1 day/wk (Fridays, 7:45 am - 1:45 pm), through Feb 12, 2025
LOCATION: Haller Middle School
HOURLY RANGE: $27.07 - $32.95 per hour and dependent upon prior experience. Hourly rate includes $1.48 - $3.20 vacation factor which is only paid on hours worked (up to 40 hours).
BENEFITS: Employees anticipated to work 630 hours in a school calendar year may be eligible for Medical, Dental, Vision, Long-term Disability Insurance, Life Insurance, Pension, VEBA, and 403(b).
Up to 12 Sick Days, 2 Personal Days, and 13 Paid Holidays - prorated based upon start date & days worked
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
SUMMARY: Under the direction and supervision of certificated staff, the Para-Educator performs tasks related to the monitoring and supervising of students on campus during the day including assisting with instruction, one on one tutoring, classroom management, organization of instructional materials, provide support and assistance in computer laboratory, library or media centers, and assist with the parental involvement activities under the direct supervision, planning and preparation of the teacher. A desire and ability to work with students is essential in this position. The placement of Para Educators is based on the needs of the District and its students. As an employee of the District, it is possible to be moved within the classification as District/student needs change. These changes could result in a minimal hourly rate change and/or location change.

* Are you a citizen or do you have a visa which permits you to work in the United States?* Minimum qualifications for this position is a high school diploma/GED AND one of the following: 1) Associate's degree or higher, 2) 72 quarter college credits at 100+ level (from an accredited college), or 3) a passing score of 461 on the ETS Paraprofessional Exam. Do you meet this requirement?* Do you have a current First Aid/CPR card and if not, are you willing to become certified within sixty (60) days of employment?* Are you trained in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) or are you willing to become trained in CPI within sixty (60) days of employment?* I authorize the District to make any investigation of any personal, educational, vocational, or employment history. I further authorize any former employer, person, firm, corporation, educational, or vocational institution or government agency to provide the District with information they have regarding me.
