Dialysis Clinical Technician Clinton Township- 40 Hours/Week Day Shift

Macomb Home Dialysis is a unit attached to an outpatient dialysis facility .
The facility oversees peritoneal and home dialysis patients. Census is 20 PD patients.
Staffed with full-time Nephrologists.
In addition, we have a full-time and part-time Home Nurses and travel pool home dialysis technicians. In addition, the unit has multiple support staff members that are shared with the outpatient clinic including front desk team and tech leader staff ( machine maintenance) that may assist with operational duties within the clinic.
We case manage 20 pts who are monitored by connected health for Baxter and NxStage systems. Patients are trained to perform dialysis treatments at home within the clinic. PD training takes 7-10 days and HHD training takes 4-6 weeks. The home team schedules monthly clinic visits for all home patients with the interdisciplinary team and lab draws for PD patients. Our team provides pt education as well as referrals to transplant services for sites the pt requests to be referred to.
The unit is typically open Monday through Friday 8am to 430pm for pt care hours with some flexibility based on the needs of the clinic. Home Nurses are scheduled to take daily after hour on-call including weekends. The home clinic is closed most weekends and holidays depending on the needs of the clinic ( training or clinical need for a patient ).

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Clinical Dialysis Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient care and a passion for helping individuals with kidney disease. As a Clinical Dialysis Technician, you will play a vital role in providing dialysis treatments and ensuring the well-being of our patients.
This position is full time. The working schedule is (4) 10 hour shifts per week (share hours). There is a weekend and holiday rotation (share weekend/holiday rotation).
GENERAL SUMMARY:
* Perform dialysis treatments according to prescribed protocols and physician orders.* Monitor patients during dialysis treatment, assessing vital signs and responding to any changes in condition.* Set up and operate dialysis machines, including performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting issues as needed.* Administer medications and intravenous fluids as prescribed by the physician.* Educate patients and their families about dialysis procedures, dietary restrictions, and self-care techniques.* Maintain accurate and complete medical records, including documenting treatment activities and patient progress.* Ensure adherence to infection control protocols and safety standards in the dialysis unit.* Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education to enhance skills and knowledge.* High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a dialysis technician training program preferred.* As a condition of continued employment, certification as a dialysis technician must be obtained (and maintained) within designated timeline of 18 months, in accordance with federal regulation.* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.* Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.* Compassionate and empathetic demeanor with a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
