The Physician Assistant is responsible for providing quality care to patients while under the supervision of a licensed physician.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
These duties and responsibilities described below represent the general tasks performed on a daily basis; other tasks may be assigned.
+ Practice medicine within the scope of license, training, and credentialing
+ Practice medicine in accordance with the current standards of care
+ Practice medicine in accordance with the quality criteria adopted by the Medical Staff Bylaws
+ Promote a safety-conscious workplace
+ Evaluate and follow up with patients
+ Complete patient charting and all required paperwork in a timely manner
+ Participate in the development and/or review of office policies and support the Practice Manager in their duties
+ Demonstrate the ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individual patient care appropriate to the age of the patients served by demonstrating a strong working knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span
+ Communicate appropriately with the person served, regardless of age
+ Attend required hospital-wide orientations, meetings, and in-services
+ Demonstrate a commitment to flexible work scheduling when necessary to ensure patient care

Education and Experience
Minimum Required Education: Graduation from an accredited Physician's Assisting program with successful completion of the National Certifying Examination administered by the National Commission of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
Preferred Education: Not applicable
Experience: 2+ years as a Physician Assistant, is preferred
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Applicant must possess a current, unrestricted license to work as a Physician Assistant in the Commonwealth of Virginia and/or the State of North Carolina, a current DEA certification without restrictions, and a PALS or ACLS certification
