Job Summary:
WMCHealth Network is seeking a Physician Assistant to join our Hematology and Oncology department in Kingston, New York. Under the direction of a supervising physician, the Physician Assistant cares for some of the most interesting and challenging cases, fostering an atmosphere suitable for advanced learning, professional growth and development. The Physician Assistant will provide a broad range of services for oncology and hematology patients in both the inpatient and outpatient settings.
Responsibilities:
Inpatient responsibilities at Health Alliance Hudson Valley Hospital will include, but are not limited to:
* Rounding with attendings, performing admission H&Ps and completing progress notes and discharge summaries.* Provide clinical support to the Infusion Center when necessary.
For outpatient services, the Physician Assistant's primary responsibilities will be inclusive of the following but not limited to:
* Perform comprehensive patient assessments, order diagnostic testing and therapeutic treatments, develop care management plans and counsel patients and their families to better understand their medical diagnoses and treatment options.* The Physician Assistant will also participate in the development of any necessary policies and procedures, staff education and community outreach. The provider will have the ability to participate on institutional committees and will be responsible to help maintain compliance with the survivorship program.
Shift/Status:
This is a full-time, exempt, Monday through Friday position.
Qualifications / Requirements:
The successful candidate will have a background in inpatient Internal Medicine with a preference for, or experience in, Oncology. New graduates are encouraged to apply, as well. Applicants must be board certified and possess or be able to obtain a license in New York State. This is an employed position in our academic group with comprehensive benefits, CME, and malpractice coverage.
