Lactation Consultant - Labor & Delivery Unit - 24 hours per week - Afternoon shift

Part -Time Benefit Eligible

Shift: Afternoons

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Under general supervision, the Lactation Consultant (LC) responds to lactation needs for breastfeeding mothers and their families. May require direction and/or guidance from physicians, advanced practice providers (APPs), or nurses. Uses critical thinking skills when addressing lactation problems. Demonstrates professionalism in clinical practice, customer service, leadership, professional development, and research/evaluation.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

+ Bachelor's degree in a clinical or non-clinical related field.

+ One year as a Lactation Consultant/Specialist.

+ Knowledge of quality management and customer service.

+ Interpersonal skills to effectively guide personnel and to communicate with patients.

+ Analytical skills to evaluate procedures, techniques, identify problems to provide solutions.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:

+ IBCLC certification required within one year of hire and maintained.
