Job Description:
Horry-Georgetown Technical College is seeking candidates for an Adjunct Instructor, Respiratory Care.
The position of Respiratory Instructor will teach assigned laboratory courses as specified in respiratory therapy, including observing students during their clinical rotations. Monitor, train and evaluate the student in the clinics. Collaborates with the Program Director and DCE to assure adequacy of laboratory supplies and equipment. The Respiratory Instructor will advise students and evaluate evidenced-based student learning outcomes coinciding with the National Board of Respiratory Care exam matrix curriculum, as well as participates in department and college committees. Respiratory Instructor will assess program effectiveness and assist in the curriculum development. Submit additional assignments as per Program Director. The individual will maintain close interactions among all students enrolled in the program. The Respiratory Instructor will document student's competencies and participation in lab/clinical using Trajecsys. The Respiratory Instructor will adhere to college and program policies and procedures. Participate fully in curriculum development and revision. Teach Respiratory Care courses and assist with labs as needed.
Advertised Salary:
Commensurate with education and experience.
Minimum Requirements:
* Respiratory therapist who is licensed in South Carolina as a Respiratory Care Practitioner. An AAS degree for Respiratory Therapist and BS or higher degree for Respiratory Therapy. * Hold a valid Registered Respiratory Therapy (RRT) credential. * Have a minimum of three (3) years' experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist with at least two (2) years in clinical respiratory care. * Have a minimum of two (2) years' experience teaching either as an appointed faculty member in a CoARC-accredited respiratory care program or as a clinical instructor/ preceptor for students of such programs.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP, as well as instructor certifications.
