POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
The Hemodialysis Tech II position will coordinate with the Clinic Manager and Department Nurse Educator in the training process for all newly hired and existing staff members. The Hemodialysis Tech II is responsible for initiating all clinical floor training that teaches and integrates UH policies, procedures and dialysis theory for the treatment of ESRD (End-Stage Renal Disease) patients for all dialysis clinical floor positions.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
A high school diploma or GED is required. Must be a PCT with at least a year of experience in hemodialysis obtained within the last 24 months. Verification of course completion in accordance with all American Heart Association Basic Cardiac Life Support and Health Care Provider guidelines is required.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION CCHT/CHT
Certification by one of the nationally recognized certification agencies (NNCC or BONENT) is required. Must have a current AHA BLS Healthcare Provider or AHA BLS Instructor Provider card.
