Advanced Practice Provider - Gynecologic Oncology

Willamette Valley Cancer Institute and Research Center - the largest private practice cancer care center in Central Oregon - is looking to add an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to their clinic in Eugene, OR. The APP will support our Gynecological Department in seeing patients, treatment education, and other general support to maintain the high level of care our community is accustomed to. While oncology experience is preferred, a heart of service and a desire to continue our mission will help you find success.

The general salary range for this position at WVCI is $97,959-$174,138. The actual hiring rate is dependent on many factors, including but not limited to: prior work experience, education, job/position responsibilities, location, work performance, etc.

Responsibilities

* Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care for individual patients.* Initiates and documents appropriate interventions; evaluates and records patient/family response within practice protocol; prescribes drug therapies per protocol/physician consultation.* Assists physicians and performs procedures as needed; conducts patient assessments and provides physician with information prior to seeing the patient.* Assesses patient/family needs and provides education.* First-assist to open, laparoscopic, and robotic surgeries (RNFA preferred for APP applicants).* Perform gynecological procedures as indicated.* Inpatient and outpatient setting.* Promotes wellness and recommends community resources to meet patient and family needs.* Promotes/provides staff education.* Incorporates evidence-based research into clinical practice.* Knowledgeable of reimbursement procedures and documentation requirements.* Completes patient charge tickets.* Provides case management for oncology clients and their families.* Serves as a resource person for the nursing staff by providing information being studies in clinical trials.* May supervise the activities of clinical nursing and support staff.* May mentor new mid-level providers.

Qualifications

* Nurse Practitioner degree or Physician Assistant degree from an accredited program for nursing education and successful completion of an APP program* Minimum of three (3) years practicing as an APP.* Experience practicing in an oncology setting preferred.* Experience and knowledge in the management of physiologic and psychological effects of cancer diagnosis and subsequent treatment.* RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in Oregon.* Currenct state certification as a Nurse Practitioner.* Current CPR certification required.
