The purpose of the class is to respond to emergency calls and provide medical assistance to the sick and injured at the Paramedic level, and to perform related work as required. The class works within a general outline of work to be performed and develops work methods and sequences under general supervision.
Requires high school diploma or GED equivalent supplemented by formal training, special courses or self-education that is equivalent to satisfactory completion of one year of college education or specialized advanced training in emergency medical technology or a closely related field.
Must possess a valid state driver's license. Must complete required coursework and maintain EMT, Paramedic, CPR, Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and any other certifications deemed necessary by department head. Requires one year of experience in EMS.
Compensation Minimum: $23.92
