ChristianaCare's Medical Group is looking to hire a
Full time Senior Medical Assistant
to support the Outpatient Heart Failure practice at the Christiana Hospital, Newark DE.
The Senior Medical Assistant is responsible for delivering and maintaining quality patient care. Will assist providers in the examination and treatment of patients with virtual and on-site appointments, will operate as a team leader and mentor of office staff in the practice to facilitate functions and duties and cross cover check-in and check-out functions as needed.
Work Schedule:Monday- Friday: 8:00am- 4:30pm.No weekend/holidaysOffers opportunities for great work-life balance!
Responsibilities:Assures adequate coverage within the practice due to staff shortage.Participate in new hire orientation and other educational initiatives for staff as per directed by supervisor.Facilitate training of new hires.Handles patient call backs relaying information per the direction of provider.Rooms patients for virtual and on-site within the practice to include taking and recording patient Vitals.Performs point of care testing, injections, medication administration and EKGs as per practice needs.Assist clinician with examinations/procedures.Prepares exam/treatment rooms with necessary supplies and equipment.Completes necessary patient-specific paperwork as per practice needs.Other related job duties as assigned.

Qualifications:High School Graduate or EquivalentA graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant Program orHold current Medical Assistant Certification by a national organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI)2 years' experience as a Medical Assistant is required; 3 years' experience is preferred.
