Outstanding opportunity to join a national leader in Neurosurgery. The Ayer Neuroscience Institute at Hartford HealthCare has a new opportunity available for a Neurosurgery Physician Assistant/APRN to join our Advanced Practice team at Hartford Hospital located in Hartford, CT.
Practice autonomously, but collaboratively, with a team of attending neurosurgeons and APPs providing advanced specialized care to neurosurgical patients including open spine, MIS spine and deformity, intracranial cases, neurovascular, peripheral nerve, neurotrauma, and neuro-interventional radiological cases.

This role will assist in providing 24/7 coverage on the inpatient side of neurosurgery including weekdays (day & night shifts), weekends (day & night shifts), and holidays. Excellent time off opportunities and flexible schedule while maintaining 24/7 coverage.
Job details:
* Managing neurosurgical brain and spine patients on the floor, stepdown, and ICU settings.* Intake H&Ps, progress notes, consultations, pre- and post-operative care, and discharges.* Providing neurosurgical consultations in the hospital and in the emergency department.* Performing bedside procedures: external ventricular drains, ICP monitors, lumbar drains, shunt taps.* First assisting the attending neurosurgeon in the operating room in brain and spine surgeries.* Shifts total 3 13-hour shifts per week.
