Baptist Medical Center is currently looking to add a Clinical Perfusionist to our Pediatric Operating Room at Wolfson Children's Hospital located in Jacksonville, FL. This is a Full-Time, Day Shift opportunity.
As the Clinical Perfusionist, you will be responsible for:
* Clinical perfusionists (CP) are responsible for operating extracorporeal circulation equipment, such as Cardio pulmonary bypass during an open-heart surgery or any other medical procedure in which it is necessary to artificially support or temporarily replace a patient's circulatory or respiratory function. * In addition, the clinical perfusionist functions in supportive roles for other medical specialties, including the extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) program to assist in long-term support of patients outside of the operation room environment. * This includes providing support during eCPR and the regular maintenance of all ECMO circuits; including initiation, termination and support/troubleshooting. * The CP has primary responsibility for priming all Ventricular Assist Devices (VADs) including placement and maintenance of VADs, including pump changes and the ability to communicate with patients, family members and others on health care team. * The CP solves problems, documents clearly and communicates effectively in writing. * They perform and evaluate laboratory tests, adhering to established lab standards. * The CP provides these services following all institutional, Perfusion, ECMO and VAD protocols.
