Job Summary

* The clinic nurse assists adult and geriatric medical oncology/hematology, and radiation oncology patients by collecting patient records and posting charges. The clinic nurse assists with bone marrow biopsies. This nurse collects patient vital signs, height/weight, draws various peripheral labs, and contacts the physician with the results, and assists with maintaining up-to-date department related electronic medical record information. The nurse assists with patient phone calls, manages prescription refill requests, and assists in obtaining authorization for imaging studies and genetic testing. Provides patients with medical oncology/hematology, and radiation oncology education as needed.

Job Requirements

* Education* Required: Graduate of an accredited nursing program

* Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing

* Experience* Preferred: Previous nursing experience

* Skills* Excellent verbal and written communication skills

* Demonstrate effective leadership abilities

* Exhibits valuable time management skills

* Strong critical thinking/problem solving skills

* Flexibility and ability to work in a multi-tasking environment

* Licensure/Certification/Registration* Required: RN license active in the state of Missouri AND BLS must be obtained within 90 days
