Job Description:
The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Florida College of Medicine - Jacksonville is seeking an applicant to fill a full-time position as a Pediatric Critical Care Physician in the Division of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine (PCCM) with clinical duties in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Wolfson Children's Hospital. The position will be at a non-tenure accruing level of Assistant/Associate/Full Professor depending of credentials and will report to the Chief of the Division of PCCM and to the Chair of the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Florida College of Medicine - Jacksonville.
General duties and responsibilities:
* Provide superior, effective and efficient care of critically ill pediatric patients * Coordinate the efficient utilization bed space in the pediatric intensive care unit * Participate actively in quality improvement initiatives to improve the care of critically ill patients * Serve as a resource to all UF COM-Jacksonville programs during the ICU rotation for medical education
The pediatric critical care specialists in the Division provide continuous in-house coverage of the PICU at Wolfson Children's Hospital and have a strong focus on educating medical students and residents. The successful candidate will possess exemplary clinical, organizational and interpersonal skills; collaborate as an enthusiastic and positive team player; demonstrate interest or accomplishment in education or in scholarship; and bring additional experience in a specific clinical domain that can expand the expertise of the group.
Wolfson Children's Hospital houses a 26-bed Pediatrics Intensive Care Unit in a new state-of-the-art Critical Care Tower. The PICU is staffed by specially trained pediatric critical care physicians, physician assistants, advanced nurse practitioners, registered nurses, respiratory therapists and other healthcare professionals.
