Job Overview
The Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant holds a key position in carrying out the MACS/WIHS Combined Cohort Study (MWCCS), providing clinical research services to in a clinic setting as part of a medical team, under the supervision and direction of study Principal Investigators. They apply their considerably experience and/or specialized training to research tasks of a standardized nature in duties that include but are not limited to:
+ Obtains medical historical data from patients
+ Performs physical and gynecological examinations and collects specimens per research protocols
+ Assists with participant enrollment
+ Reviews medical records
+ Performs Fibroscan, anthropometric measurements, InBody analysis, Frailty assessment, and Pulmonary Function Tests per protocol
+ All trainings are provided by the study leadership
+ Develops patient education materials
+ Supervises Medical Assistants
+ Coordinates sub-studies as needed
+ Occasionally assists phlebotomists in venipuncture if needed
Work Interactions
The Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant directly interacts with the study participants, and collaborates with the medical team, research assistants/specialists, and the data team - as well as with Assistant Project Directors, Division Administrator, Project Director and the Principal Investigators. They coordinate with the interviewer team to schedule participant visits; and coordinate with the data team to perform data entry and edits.
Qualifications
+ Master's degree in nursing or Physician Assistant (PA-C)
+ 3 to 5 years of primary health care experience or 2 to 3 years as a Nurse Practitioner
+ Current certification/registration with appropriate governmental agencies
+ Exceptional interpersonal skills and detail-orientation
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills
+ Ability to work both independently and in the team
Preferred qualifications
+ Ability to speak, read, and write Spanish
+ Knowledge of research methods
+ Experience in research protocols and quality assurance

Pay Range:
The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:
$80,429.00 - $157,238.93
Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University's business needs and external factors.
