_Rady Children's Hospital San Diego (RCHSD), a 377-bed level 1 Trauma Center, is the major regional primary and tertiary pediatric hospital and is the clinical home of UCSD Department of Pediatrics.
The Emergency Division has a strong commitment to clinical care, teaching and research.
The Urgent Cares consist of 6 locations around the county of San Diego and the surrounding areas.
The Emergency Department is located at the Rady Children's Hospital Main Campus._
JOB SUMMARY:
The Nurse Practitioner, NICU-ED-UC provides comprehensive physical assessment, treatment, psychosocial support, referral, and health education to children and families in clinical settings. This position is accountable for a defined patient population under the supervision of a licensed physician and is the primary provider of care to acute, critical, complex chronically ill and well pediatric patients collaboratively with the Divisions of Neonatology, Emergency Medicine, or Urgent Care. The Nurse Practitioner, NICU-ED-UC also functions as a clinical leader, educator, researcher, and consultant.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's Degree in Nursing
Current California Nurse Practitioner license
Current BLS Certification for Healthcare Providers, issued by AHA
Current PALS Certification, issued by AHA
Furnishing number, State of California - Must obtain within 1 year of employment
DEA license for positions that require the writing of scheduled medications - Must obtain within one year of employment
Medicare Billing number (NPI- National Provider Identifier) - Must obtain within 6 months of employment
Certification: Nurse Practitioner, National - Must obtain within 1 year of employment
Successfully complete the credentialing process through Medical Staff Services
Successfully complete the requirements of the delegations of Services for the assigned division
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Two years of experience in clinical nursing with emphasis in specialty area
Experience in specialty area as a Nurse Practitioner
Formal in-service education and/or lecturing skills
Bilingual Skills desired
The expected hiring range for this position is $74.51 to $102.45 per hour.
