American Ambulance Service, Inc, is a subsidiary of the Hartford HealthCare EMS Network, a comprehensive, multidisciplinary EMS system which includes licensed EMS agencies, hospital - based paramedic response resources, air-medical response resources, education and research, and hospital-based coordinators and medical directors.
Our headquarters is located in Norwich, CT and we have additional offices in the Town of Griswold, the Town of Ledyard, and at the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation's Foxwoods Resort Casino. American Ambulance provides a full range of emergent and non-emergent medical transportation services by highly trained professionals to ensure safe, quick, and compassionate patient care.
Job Summary
The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) is a critical and essential member of the Operations team. The main role of the EMT is to provide Basic Life Support patient care and medical transportation in accordance with protocol and company policy/procedure. An EMT's duties also may include inter-facility transports, non-emergency calls and emergency calls. An EMT uses exceptional teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills to provide the highest level of care to patients. As an ambassador of American Ambulance, the EMT interacts externally with the general public, various first responder agencies, health care providers and hospital personnel, and internally across all departments with a focus on EMS operational team members including dispatch / scheduling.
Minimum Qualifications
* High School Diploma or GED * Current State of Connecticut EMT Certification in good standing. * Current American Heart Association CPR or the ability to obtain and maintain an American Heart Association CPR Certification within 30 days of hire. * Valid Driver's License and an excellent driving record.
