Job Description Summary

Provides onsite support for the reprocessing of flexible endoscopes and related devices and equipment to contracted facilities in compliance with the Department of Health, TJC, OSHA, CDC, AAMI, DNV and AORN standards and facilities goals and policies..

* Cleans, disinfects, or calibrates scopes or other endoscopic instruments according to manufacturer instructions for use (IFU) and facility standards. * Operates all mechanical machinery within the department such as, but not limited to, Automatic Reprocessing Machines (AER) and Flushing Machine within endoscope processing. * Learns and trains in all assigned areas, such as, but not limited to decontamination, clean area, and storage area processes aligned with IPS professional standards and regulations. * Maintains inventory of endoscopic equipment and supplies. * Performs safety checks to verify proper equipment functioning. * Responds and supports requests made by leadership or staff with ensuring requested scopes are prioritized and available for staff needs. * Report's repair needs and/or machine failures. * Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Compensation Range: $16.31 - $25.28 Hourly

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: High School Diploma or GED.

Experience: 0-1+ years of sterile processing experience with scope experience, endoscopy, or transferrable experience required.

Licensure: Must obtain Certified Flexible Endoscope Reprocessor (CFER) or Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER) within 6 months of hire.

Must maintain certification by completing Continuing Education Credit Hours (CEU's) in accordance with renewal schedule.

Completion of a Sterile Processing/Surgical Technologist such as Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates (SGNA) preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping/traveling; Repetitive motion: decontamination of instrumentation, lifting instrument sets. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 50 - 100lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, cold, heat, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
