**POSITION PURPOSE:**
Respond to 911 calls, interfacility, and tiered transfer requests, providing support to patient care within the MercyOne Elkader Ambulance service-area.
Under general supervision of an Emergency Medical Technician, the EMS driver operates the vehicle in a manner which will allow safe and expedient transport when necessary.

**What you will do:**
+ Drives Ambulance to Emergent, Non-Emergent and interfacility calls.
+ Cover on-call hours as directed and per departmental need.
+ Complete all orientation and yearly competency skills.
+ Attend monthly meetings and training.
+ Assist in the preparation of the State Inspection through organized record keeping and maintenance of required training documents.
+ Assist EMT with restocking and cleaning of Ambulance after every call.
+ Attend state/regional/local Emergency Preparedness planning meetings and participate in drills and exercises.
+ Maintain satisfactory state licensure status.
+ Perform additional duties as assigned.
+ Assist in training and orientation of new staff.
+ Report any malfunctions or incidents with the rig to the EMS manager and fill out an Incident Report form.
**What we are looking for:**
+ Valid State of Iowa Driver's License with a clean record.
+ Current BLS or obtain within 1 month after employment.
+ Take Emergency Vehicle Operation Course initially and yearly updates.
