We are seeking a full time Construction Safety Technician to support the staff in our 200 employee operations department. Chesapeake Containment Systems is an operationally focused environmental services firm specializing in the solid waste, power and industrial markets. We are a leader in the geosynthetics installation industry, and the company was founded in 2007. While our headquarters are in Statesville, North Carolina, we work on jobsites in multiple states, primarily in the Southeast region of the United States.

Construction Safety Technician - Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssist Project Managers and Field Superintendents with all safety related tasksEnsure adherence to federal, state, company, and customer safety policies and procedures on projectsConduct field safety auditsAssist in the development and delivery of regulatory and company required trainingAssist in conducting incident investigationsWork with operations leadership and field personnel to identify potential hazards and controls and work with our contractors and clients to address safety concernsAssist in preparing and conducting weekly safety toolbox talksSignificant travel is required at times throughout the year

Construction Safety Technician - Knowledge and Skill RequirementsRequiredAssociate Safety Professional (ASP) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP)Experience using and applying Safety Management SystemsKnowledge and understanding of OSHA regulationsExperience developing regulatory compliance programs and trainingExperience with injury case management and return to work proceduresEstablishing sustainable systems for compliance and continuous improvement

PreferredBachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety or a related field.Bi-lingual English-Spanish highly desiredCHST (Construction Health and Safety Technician) /STSC (Safety Trained Safety Certified)OSHA 510 / OSHA 30 / CPR Training Certification
