To research, evaluate, design, implement, and maintain systems and product solutions, applying expert knowledge of engineering principles. Assist with coordinating activities between multiple disciplines within IT and vendors on both technical and non-technical issues pertaining to computer system hardware and software, network infrastructure, peripheral evaluation, and integration. Considered subject matter expert and a key stakeholder/key contributor on complex initiatives and project teams. Conduct complex work assignments under limited supervision. Cloud Engineering: Delivery of the computing services and the duties associated with it such as designing, planning, administering, developing, or maintaining applications in the cloud-based environments.

Responsibilities
Lead integration of product technologies with respect to mechanical, electrical, firmware and software for multiple on-going projectsDefine the application design and delivery adhering to a Service Oriented Architecture paradigm, so that different components work seamlesslyDrive system requirements, system specifications, input/output processes and working parameters by using systems engineering best practicesLead the development work streams responsible for creating compliant platformsResponsible for systems analysis, design, development, integration, enhancement, and deployment as well as application support for various applicationsLead the deployment of new modules, upgrades and fixesDefine, develop or modify software application modules or enterprise wide software systems using disciplined development processesImplement integration plans and interface with testing teams to incorporate plans into the integration testing processPrepare and present functional design specifications and design project process flowProvide specific detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needsResearch, evaluate, recommend, and implement information technology that aligns with business needs and meets objectivesUse holistic knowledge of all products in the information technology ecosystem to plan how new systems will be built and integratedInstall, maintain, and perform configuration of infrastructure applicationsCreate and manage life cycle of technical specifications from which programs and configurations will be applied to create the application, infrastructure or complete solutionReview solutions to ensure alignment with customer objectives, organization guidelines/benchmarks and industry best practicesDefine and establish structure, process and governance mechanisms for knowledge management and knowledge sharing platforms (e.g., assimilation, classification and dissemination, etc.)Create operational artifacts, run-books and service level agreement documents associated with Cloud Data Platform services and productsServe as an advisor providing advice and counsel on assignments concerned with specialized or unique engineering requirementsParticipate in the creation of entire systems (e.g., clients, server hardware, network, databases, etc.)Provide technical direction and leadership routinely to other engineers; serve as a coach and mentorIdentify potential problems in design, quality, or operation and initiate corrective actionMaintain technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.Identify opportunities to effectively mitigate risk and improve performance and functionalityDrive system testing including evaluation, verification & validation activitiesInstall, maintain, and configure systems infrastructure on a widely distributed networkProvide forward thinking technical expertise in current and emerging technologies, trends and practices
Qualifications
Significant experience in one or more of the following: systems engineering, software engineering, information systems management, etc. at the enterprise level in a large multi-function organization, preferably at a large financial services organizationAdvanced knowledge in the areas of IP internetworking, LAN Switching Protocols (e.g., VLAN (802.1Q), STP, HSRP, VRRP, LACP/PAGP, etc.), IP Routing protocols (IGRP, OSPF, EIGRP, BGP)Significant experience with Object Oriented Programming languages (e.g., C#, C, C++, Java, Python, .NET, etc.)Significant experience with private, public and hybrid cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Oracle Cloud, etc.)Significant experience in working with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, etc.)Significant experience in building and managing common platforms (e.g., Service Now, Pega, Share point Online, Salesforce, etc.)Significant experience with Agile software development practices including Scrum, JIRA, Peer Review, Git and CI/CDSignificant experience with Microsoft Windows and Unix/Linux server operating systemsSignificant experience with modern network enabled relational databasesAdvanced knowledge of Unix and Linux systemsAdvanced knowledge of networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, HTTP, etc.) and standard network architecturesAdvanced knowledge of databases, NoSQL systems, storage and distributed persistence technologiesAdvanced knowledge of continuous integration and deployment and tools chain (e.g., GIT, Jenkins, Maven, RunDeck, Terraform, Ansible, etc.)Advanced knowledge of discipline engineering principles, practices, and theories, and methods to identify and solve the highest complex problems and perform sophisticated analysesAdvanced knowledge of system engineering design methods including requirements analysis and flowdown, specification derivation and interface control documentationAdvanced knowledge and understanding of the end-to-end IT process, including architecture, design & engineering, implementation, and operationsSignificant experience in developing scripts or applications to automate systems implementation, configuration, or managementAdvanced knowledge of project lifecycles and management methodologiesSignificant experience in cloud migration and engineering cloud centric environmentsSignificant experience leading systems analysis, design, and architecture effortsSignificant experience with system architectures in a service oriented and enterprise service business environmentSelf-motivated and proactive, able to learn quickly and apply new concepts, tools and applicationsDemonstrated ability to solve complex system/integration problems through innovative solutionsAdvanced troubleshooting skills and ability to identify root causes of issues and provide solutionsAdvanced problem solving, collaboration, critical thinking, team building, and presentation skillsAdvanced skill applying innovative approaches to solve technical design issuesExpert verbal, interpersonal and written communication skillsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience
