American Implement is seeking aCDL TRUCK DRIVERfor our dealership in Colby, Goodland, or Wheeler, Kansas.American Implement is seeking an individual to help transport equipment for our dealership in a timely and professional manner. Most runs are local and generally consist of wide loads. May instruct customers on basic equipment operating procedures.COMPENSATION
This is a full-time, non-exempt position$22-26/hour + depending on experienceEligible for overtime and bonusesBENEFITSPaid Vacation, Sick, Holiday & Parental Leave401(k) plus matchEmployer-paid Health Insurance for employeeOptional Dependent Health InsuranceEmployer-paid Life + AD&D Insurance for employeeOptional Voluntary Life + AD&D Insurance for employee & dependentsEmployer-paid Short-term DisabilityOptional Dental & VisionOptional MASA Medical Transport SolutionsOptional AFLAC Supplemental InsuranceEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Credit UnionAnd more...ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSOperates a semi-truck according to applicable state and federal transportation law.Transports equipment to/from customers and/or between dealer facilities; may also pick up new equipment from a John Deere factory.Supports the sales department with equipment delivery as needed.Maintains activity records and log books, and obtains necessary signatures and receipts.Accountable for all time and distance traveled in performing assigned duties.May instruct customers on basic equipment operating procedures as required.May participate in Service EDUCATE Training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge.Operates and maintains vehicles, tools and equipment required to perform job responsibilities.Facilitates routine service on trucks, which may include checking oil, water, fuel, and air; reports maintenance malfunctions to the Director of Transportation.Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion.Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments, including traffic laws.Maintains knowledge of John Deere and competitive products.Performs other related duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS3+ year(s) of experience pulling a tractor trailer; experience as a semi-truck operator for wide loads preferred.Experience with the mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in off road, construction, lawn, or heavy equipment.Experience working cooperatively in a team environment.Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to speak professionally and courteously with customers and staff.Experience communicating effectively verbally and in writing. Must be able to read & speak English.Ability to use navigation tools such as onboard GPS, smartphone apps, and/or web-based or physical maps.High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required.Valid CDL (Commercial Driver's License) issued by the state of KS required.Acceptable Driving Record (MVR); must meet insurance requirements.Must pass background and drug testing as required by federal and/or state department(s) of transportation regulations.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSExtended periods of standing, walking, bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching overhead, regularly lifting 75 lbs without assistance, grasping with both hands, pushing and pulling, working around moving machinery, driving a vehicle, extensive hours on a computer, hearing normal tones, and seeing.
