This position supports PICA, our line of business providing professional liability coverage to lawyers, dentists, podiatrists and chiropractors. This is a fully remote position and we are open to candidates being based in CT, MA, PA, OH, MD, VA TN, GA, NC and FL in order to meet the travel requirements of the position. Job Summary: The Senior Business Development Managers primary responsibility will be to achieve profitable growth by expanding the market position through the agency distribution channel for the medical and Lawyer professional liability lines of business. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 25% - Evaluate agent force and stratify by opportunity for growth or maintenance. Develop a strategic annual growth strategy with agents focused on meeting new business and retention goals. Responsible for holding agents accountable for meeting goals through monitoring of key performance indicators and communicating progress to agents quarterly. 20% - Responsible for agent relationships through regular visits and communication throughout the year and communicating with internal staff to ensure service levels are met. 10% - Manage the agent distribution system including recruiting, contracting, appointing, and motivating independent agents, brokers, and others engaged to promote and sell our products and services. 10% - Identify and establish new key partner relationships resulting in additional premium to meet new business goals. 10% - Attend industry functions, such as risk management, association or school events, and conferences. 10% - Accountable for monitoring market, competitive, product, and creative trends through agent discussions and industry meetings, and presenting this information to business operational areas quarterly. 5% - Coordinate with product management, underwriting, and marketing in consideration of product development needs, complex risk evaluation, and market trends. 5% - Develop and manage the flow of critical communications to agents and insureds regarding business processes, underwriting appetite, product changes, system enhancements, and compliance changes to support a competitive marketplace advantage. 5% - Leverage marketing and risk management resources to coordinate agency marketing initiatives and needs. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree preferred. Proven track record of establishing solid relationships and closing sales. Agency sales experience within medical professional liability insurance arena preferred. Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% within assigned territories. Valid drivers license. Property Casualty insurance license in their respective state(s). Highly organized, with strong strategic planning and time management skills. Strong interpersonal skills required. Excellent communications skills, and the ability to present ideas in a clear and concise manner, both verbally and in writing. Position Salary Range: $81,860.00 - $135,082.00 The salary range displayed represents the entirety of the pay grade for this position. Most candidates will start in the bottom half of the range.
