OverviewKamatics , has an exciting opportunity as a CNC Machinist III - Spherical at our Bloomfield CT facility. Kamatics, a division of Kaman Corporation, is a leader in the design and manufacture of high technology mechanical products, such as self-lubricated bearings and driveline couplings, used in aviation, marine, hydropower and other industrial applications. We have a great opportunity for a dynamic and motivated CNC Machinist to join our team in Bloomfield, CT on night shift with a 15% shift differential. The core hours for the position are 3:30pm to 12:00am and we are currently running one hour of mandatory overtime, at the end of the shift for a required 45 hours a week. Overtime pay is 1.5x the hourly rate for all hours in excess of 40 hours in a week. We offer competitive pay, comprehensive benefits including a 100% dollar for dollar match on the first 5% you contribute to the 401(k) plan along with generous time-off programs. This inlcudes a one week paid shutdown during the holidays that does not require you to use vacation time. As an industry leader we design, test and manufacture the highest performing, self-lubricating, roller element, metal to metal and miniature bearings in the industry.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesWith limited technical supervision, checks out programming, sets up, operates and adjusts semi-automatic numerically controlled machine tools to perform a series of progressive machining operations on repetitive work to close and exacting tolerances and finish specifications requiring considerable skillWorks from programming instructions, operational data and machine setup instructions defining and coding tool arrangements, material clamping methods, machine calibrations and console settingsPerform operations that may include drilling, honing, boring, milling and turning, screw machine operation, etc., on routine and repetitive operations.Checks parts for conformance to specificationsPerform all responsibilities within productivity and quality expectationsMaintain clean and safe work environment. Follow safety and environmental procedures and regulations. Report safety incidents to supervisorMake recommendations for improvements to work processes. Contribute to 5S program in work areaProvide a high level of service to all internal and external customers. Contribute to positive teamwork environmentPerform other duties as assigned. Participate in learning other positions.
