This role will be communicating technical information to end users of Zebra products and applications using writing, editing, design, illustration, or multimedia skills.Candidate will work on a hybrid schedule in Holtsville, NY or Lincolnshire, IL

Responsibilities:Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Act as lead and SME for technical writing on team. Mentor other technical writers on best practices.Drive process improvements and document guidelines/standards to ensure continuity of style of content.Build and maintain a comprehensive library of technical terminology and documentation.Write clear, concise, and informative documentation to educate external developers, partners, and prospects on Zebra’s features and functionality.Evaluate project requirements, analyze audience needs, and recommend appropriate externally-facing documentation.Work closely with engineers, product managers, and other team members to collect source information, obtain technical reviews, and test functionality, as necessary.Participate in team initiatives to establish style and process guidelines, provide input into tool and usability decisions, and contribute occasionally to internal documentation.

Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degrees in Technical Writing, English, Communications, or a related field.5+ years of experience in technical writing.Proven experience with DITA (Darwin Information Typing Architecture).Demonstrated experience writing documentation for targeted audiences.Must be able to work on a hybrid schedule in Lincolnshire, IL or Holtsville, NY.Preferred Qualifications:Knowledge of Adobe FrameMaker.Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, learn new skills quickly, and balance multiple projects.Ability to work with a variety of stakeholders, both technical and non-technical.Knowledge of technical writing standards and familiarity with common style guides.Zebra is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. Salary offered will vary depending on your location, job-related skills, knowledge, and experience.
