Provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient nephrology consultations and outpatient nephrology care to patients with chronic kidney disease, hypertension, glomerulonephritis, kidney stones, hereditary kidney diseases, and electrolyte abnormalities, as well as provide kidney transplant medical management. Provide and prescribe renal replacement therapy (dialysis) and comprehensive care to hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis patients as well as manage immunosuppression and medical management of kidney transplant patients. Also address other kidney failure-related conditions. Take history, manage treatment plans, perform physical exams, order and interpret laboratory results and prescribe treatments. Perform central catheter placements and kidney biopsies. Additionally, serve as an assistant professor to train medical residents within the hospital setting.
REQ: M.D., or foreign equivalent; Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine; completion of 24 months of fellowship training in Nephrology; passage of USMLE 1, 2, and 3; and must have or be eligible for a Pennsylvania Medical License.
