Role Summary:As a Communications Consultant in IQ Solutions' Health Communications team, your responsibilities will include supporting the planning and implementation of communications strategies and tactics, including outreach to consumers and professionals and development of related products and campaigns and programs for multicultural audiences, as well as media outreach and development of corresponding messages and materials. You are part strategist, part practitioner ('a do-er').*Candidates who lack experience in health and communications will not be considered for this position and should not apply.What will you be engaged in day-to-day?Researching and developing communications materials for key audiences (consumers, professionals, health care providers, researchers). This may include eblasts, social media content, print and web content, media pitches, presentations, and ads.Preparing key strategy documents for the client, including communications plans, workplans, and editorial calendars. Drafting informal strategy guidance for the client.Developing innovative communications strategies informed by analytics and audience research that work across web, social media, email marketing, earned and paid media outreach, stakeholder engagement and other communications channels.Researching potential collaborator organizations and conducting outreach to support partnerships and promote increased reach and engagement with key audiences.Identifying, implementing, and owning processes and procedures that streamline and improve the overall experience for clients and colleagues.What qualifications will help you succeed?Bachelor's or master's degree in communications, marketing, public health, social work, or an applicable field of study, or the equivalent education or experience, plus a minimum of five years of relevant work experience.Strong written and verbal communications skills.A passion for and experience with work designed to support marginalized families, especially Black families. Lived experience and community work are valued as much as professional experience.A robust understanding of intersectionality, social determinants of health, and the ways in which systems impact individuals' and families' health and well-being.An understanding of social safety net systems (e.g., TANF, Head Start and Healthy Start, Medicaid, WIC and SNAP).Experience engaging researchers and knowledge about the lifecycle of scientific research.Experience working in an agency environment on federal Government or nonprofit projects.The ability to manage multiple projects from conception to completion with excellent time management and proactive communication.The ability to collaborate in a multi-disciplinary team environment, think creatively, and exercise good business judgment, flexibility, and responsiveness to changing requirements and conditions.Comfort with learning new systems and tools.Commitment to continuous learning; setting and pursuing stretch goals.Management retains the discretion to add to or change the duties of the position at any time.IQ Solutions is an Equal Opportunity Employer and an Affirmative Action Employer (M/F/Disabled/Veteran).
