A law firm in Washington, DC, is seeking an experienced I.P. - Patent Agent to join their team. The ideal candidate will possess a PhD (or MD) in organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, or a related field and have at least 2+ years of relevant experience. The position requires a USPTO registration number, exceptional academic credentials, and strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.Duties
Draft and prosecute patent applications before the USPTO.Conduct patentability and freedom-to-operate analyses.Prepare and file responses to office actions and other USPTO communications.Collaborate with clients and inventors to gather technical information and understand invention disclosures.Perform prior art searches and analyze patent landscapes.Provide technical and legal advice related to patent rights and strategies.Support the firm’s litigation and transactional practices with patent expertise.Stay updated on advancements in intellectual property law and relevant scientific fields.Requirements
Minimum of 2+ years of experience as a patent agent.PhD (or MD) in organic, medicinal, or related fields.USPTO registration number is required.Superior academic credentials.Education
