The Partnerships (CBFPF) unit within the Economics & Private Sector Development Vice-Presidency supports IFC operations through fundraising for priority areas and maintaining ongoing relationships with development partners, including bilateral and multilateral sovereign partners and an increasing range of private philanthropic partners. In addition to directly engaging with partners to support IFC activities, CBFPF facilitates partnership development across IFC and advises all IFC operational units on establishing and maintaining meaningful partnerships for funding and broader support for IFC initiatives.

The Private Philanthropies Team is responsible for developing and managing IFC’s relationships with non-sovereign philanthropic partners, including foundations, family offices, collaboratives, and other emerging new structures in the philanthropic sector. The team leads strategy development, marketing and new partnership development, and portfolio management of existing partners; and facilitates strategic access to new partners for IFC’s operational teams.

Duties and Accountabilities

The consultant will report to the Head of Private Philanthropy in CBFPF. As part of the assignment, the consultant will focus on the following areas:

Partnership Development:

Develop new materials and enhance existing documents and presentations used for partner engagement, with a specific focus on PowerPoint pitch decks, infographics, and other visuals.

Knowledge Management:

Centralize knowledge management efforts for the team, including filing and data collection/validation.

Verify data accuracy and consistency for briefs and other materials prepared for senior management engagements with existing and potential partners.

Market Scoping:

Support desk-based research on the private philanthropic sector, including periodic updates to market scoping analyses, donor profiles, and strategy documents.

Support due diligence for new partners.

Event Coordination:

Provide logistical, coordination, and planning support for donor events and roundtables, tracking and centralizing inputs from various teams across IFC.

Selection Criteria

Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field with a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant professional experience.

PowerPoint and slide design skills: Strongest proficiency required. Graphic design skills and experience are a plus.

Self-motivated: Demonstrates initiative and drive with the ability to manage parallel assignments; and efficient delivery of high-quality outputs.

Creative: Experienced in synthesizing complex ideas into simple messages using graphics and words.

Organizational skills: Excellent ability to perform multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.

Strong interpersonal skills: Willingness to work in a team environment and take on both small and large tasks with equal enthusiasm.

Qualitative analysis: Demonstrated ability to apply and conduct high-quality, efficient qualitative analysis for non-expert audiences.

Communication: Excellent English writing and editing skills.

Professional integrity: Highest degree of discretion, tact, and sensitivity in dealing with internal and external clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.

Knowledge of IFC and/or private sector development: Highly desirable.
