Responsibilities Include:

LPN/ RN Wound Nurse is responsible for addressing patients in the wound ward.

The Greens at Hickory is seeking a wound care nurse, LPN/RN to join our team of dedicated health care professionals. The qualified individual must be able to work in a team-oriented environment to ensure the highest quality of care is consistently provided to our residents.

Wound care nurse will specialize in assessing and treating patients with complex wounds, ostomies, or continence conditions. Wound care nurse will

work closely with nursing team to ensure that personalized treatment plans are followed correctly in order to prevent future infection. Common types of complex patient wounds include ulcers, burns, pressure injuries, diabetic foot wounds, surgical wounds, and skin tears.

Duties:

Assessing and monitoring wounds

Cleaning and bandaging wounds

Working collaboratively with other members of the patient care team to determine if additional treatments or changes in care are required that might require writing orders to expedite wound healing and avoid skin breakdown

Will require educating patients and nursing team on wound care, infection and injury prevention, and pressure ulcer (bed sore) care

Experience and Education :

· LPN or RN license is required.

· Minimum of one year nursing experience within a skilled nursing facility preferred
