DescriptionLeidos' Digital Modernization sector is excited to announce an opening for a Senior Network Security Engineer to join our DISA J-6 team. This role is based at the Pentagon and requires a commitment to working 100% on-site. We are looking for an experienced engineer who possesses the skills to design, implement, and manage advanced firewall solutions, ensuring the security and robustness of our network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with leading firewall technologies such as Cisco ASA, Juniper SRX, and Palo Alto, along with a strong foundation in security networking.Primary Responsibilities:Design, implement, and manage firewall solutions utilizing Cisco ASA/Firepower, Juniper SRX, and Palo Alto technologies.
Continuously monitor firewall performance and security logs to identify and mitigate potential threats.
Develop, enforce, and update network security policies and procedures.
Conduct system audits to ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
Collaborate effectively with IT, Security, and Network teams to seamlessly integrate firewall solutions.
Troubleshoot and resolve network and firewall issues swiftly, documenting findings within the ticketing system.
Maintain and update firewall configurations, including security policies and ACLs, in accordance with Change Management protocols.
Required Clearance and Certifications:An active DoD Secret security clearance is required, with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance; an active TS/SCI is preferred.
Must possess a DoD 8570 IAT II or higher certification (such as Security+ CE or equivalent) prior to starting the position.
Must have a certification from Juniper, Cisco, or Palo Alto prior to starting.
Required Qualifications:A BS degree with at least 8 years of relevant experience. Military experience or other relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
At least 3 years of firewall experience within a DOD environment.
Demonstrated experience in implementing both perimeter and internal firewalls in physical and virtual contexts.
Proven expertise in managing standard baseline configurations across multiple firewalls.
Extensive experience in evaluating security rules to maximize security while minimizing redundancy.
About the Program:Through the J-6 Pentagon Penetration Handling, Incident, System Health (PHISH) support services task order, we provide essential IT products, services, and solutions to the Pentagon and other DoD offices in the National Capitol Region.
