LOCATION OF POSITION: Kent County Department of Social Services, 350 High Street, Chestertown MD 21620
Main Purpose of Job
The main focus of this position is Management of Information Technology Systems. This position analyzes agency automated systems and training needs based on consultations with management and line staff, designs structure of network and standalone microcomputer systems, provides training on use of hardware and software, and troubleshoots automated systems problems. This position requires the use of judgement and excellent communication skills.
POSITION DUTIES
Consult with management and line staff to analyze local intra-agency microcomputer needs; assess existing hardware and software; design structure of network and standalone computer systems and network automation installations or adapt proprietary software to meet identified needs and complement mainframe systems; write and assemble technical and user documentation; and monitor system performance and propose and implement enhancements as needed.
Work to troubleshoot and resolve all automation problems within 24 hours.
Assist with implementation and continuing operation of mainframe systems; act as a liaison between agency administrative staff and central office technical personnel responsible for these systems.
Handle all telecommunications for the agency, including phone bill verification for cell phones, repairs and replacement of equipment; act as primary contact for internal telephone systems; maintain and update employee phone accounts and stations; act as liaison between Verizon DHS/OTHS Voice Com, NEC technicians and staff for repair and replacement; verify phone bills and accounts; and act as primary contact for agency copier and fax machine equipment and Keyscan security access system.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EXPERIENCE: Two years and six months of experience, one year of experience planning, integrating and maintaining software and hardware for local or wide area computer networks, and an additional eighteen months of experience converting data from project specifications by preparing program code using generally accepted computer programming languages or other developmental tools; planning, installing and maintaining data communications network lines and devices; or evaluating, implementing and maintaining computer hardware and software.
SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS: One year of using an endpoint management solution.
